Glenridge Home Stay goal is to provide a place for renters who are full time students or full time working individuals at least 18 years or older. We base our rent on a renewable month to month rental period,
Rooms are large private areas for single occupancy only. You will not be able to move any extra furniture into the room. You are responsible to keep your room clean and tidy. Do not hang wet clothes or towels of any kind in your room. This prevents the spread of mildew to your clothes and the room. A vacuum is provided for you to clean your room when needed. No hanging anything on the wall of the room. Room fresheners are not allowed and can cause headaches and other illnesses for other people in the house. No candles in the room because of the fire hazard.
Be sure to vacuum your room at least once a month. You are also responsible to wash and dry the sheets on the bed at least once a month.
Each room has a bed, desk, chair, large closet, lamp, and drawers. No smoking in rooms or any other part of the house. Do not put anything on the window sills, like books, cups, or stuff. This stuff leaves marks on the window sill and is difficult to clean.
There are no kitchen privileges and it is closed at all times for renters use.
Breakfast and Dinner
Dinner is provided Monday through Thursday. This meal is served buffet style where you can choose for yourself what to eat. All renters are expected to eat dinner in the dining room together if you are here. This is a wonderful opportunity to visit with each other and relax from a busy day.
Breakfast is continental and you can choose what is available at that time. Breakfast is served from 7am to 9 am everyday. All meals are complimentary. Brunch is served on Sunday at 11:00 am.
A washer and dryer is provided for all renters and is free. Laundry hours are from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm. All laundry must be washed and dried by 9:00 pm. Renters must be in the house when washing or drying their laundry. We also provide laundry detergent. The lounge is a large and open area for all renters to use. A microwave is provided for all renters to use. A small refrigerator is provided in the laundry room for renters to use.
Each renter will share a bathroom with other renters and are expected to keep it clean. A caddy is provided for you to carry all your personal items with you when you use the bathroom because you will not be able to store any personal items in the bathroom. All counters, mirror, toilet, floors, shower or tub, are to be left clean and dry. Always use the fan when taking a shower or bath. Always spread the shower curtain when finished taking a shower. The bathroom door is to be left open at all times when not in use. There are towel racks in each bathroom for you to hang your wet towels.
We require all renters to respect the quiet hours. This is from 10:00 pm to 7:00 am everyday. All renters are asked to finish all your activities in the house by this time and plan to take a shower before quiet hours begin. Always be respectful of each other and wear appropriate clothing at all times. Remember when departing for any traveling plans to leave before 5 pm at night or after 6 am in the morning. It is very disrupting to other renters to hear you moving in and out at odd hours. You can plan to stay at the Garden Hilton a few hours early to catch a van to the airport and be safe and warm. This is important to remember when moving out at the end of your stay.
Rent is due on the 1st day of each month. I expect you to pay your rent before that day if you are planning on continuing to live here. Each renter is allowed to keep renting each month if they are in good standing and comply with all the house rules and all application form information has not changed. If you pay rent for a month, but for some reason decide to leave, your rent money will not be refunded. If you wish to leave for an extended time you need to notify the house manager. If you wish to leave the house for any reason you must take all your items with you when you leave the premises. We are not responsible for any lost, stolen or damaged items and you will need to get renters insurance if this is a concern for you.
We are not responsible for any mail or packages should you move out. You are required to make sure you stop all letters and packages. All mail or packages coming after you leave will be sent back to the sender. This is a federal law requirement. If you receive any boxes you will need to flatten them and put them in the garbage. Please be prepared to pay an extra deposit for garbage if you accumulate more garbage from packages or food items than normal.
A guest is allowed in the house from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm any day of the week. Make sure the house managers are aware of any guest you may have over. You are responsible for your guests at all times and you need to be here when they are here. We encourage you to invite guests for dinner. Please let management know a few days in advance if you invite someone for dinner. Depending on the time or amount of guests there may be a charge for this dinner.
If you wear it to bed, do not wear it to any meals or the main floor. You are expected to wear street clothes to all meals and when walking on the main floor. If you see a light on and no one is there, turn the lights off. If it is after 10:00 pm and you are still studying, turn off the room lights and turn on a lamp. This saves us energy and light bulbs. If you have a problem with anyone, just talk to a manager. We will be happy to address your concerns and speak to the other renter about an issue. We do not allow smoking, drinking or use of any drugs. We have one dog and two cats, and they will be happy to help you feel at home here.
Please let managers know if anything needs repair or replacement. Also, any suggestions or helpful concerns are always appreciated. We reserve the right to inspect any room, any time, if we feel there is a concern about the condition of the room or the person in the room. If any renter displays unruly behavior or is abusive to staff, or any renter, said renter will be asked to leave immediately without rent reimbursement. If there is a need to change the house rules all renters will be given the remainder of the month to comply.
